Tom Shirley

Operations Manager

Tom joined IDAD in 2016, starting in the Central Sales Team and marking his entry into the financial sector. After a year, he transitioned to Operations, where he now serves as Operations Manager. In this role, he leads a team of five across three locations, overseeing transaction processing, settlement, trading for IDAD Funds, document production, valuations, product pricing, performance reporting, and regulatory transaction reporting—among other evolving responsibilities.

More recently, Tom moved to Cape Town to help develop an operations team globally while supporting local sales managers and institutional clients. Under his leadership, operations are now effectively coordinated across three locations, ensuring seamless service for clients worldwide.

Tom is also part of IDAD’s Strategic Sales team, supporting adviser firms globally. His expertise, spanning product development to sales execution, makes him a valuable resource across the business.

Outside of work, Tom is an active member of local sports clubs, enjoying padel tennis, golf, and exploring Cape Town while being social. He is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments (CISI) and continues to pursue further financial services qualifications.
